The problem is, the other sources aren’t geared up to produce the kind of volumes which used to flow out of China every week. Plus, big players in the construction industry were quick to shore up those supplies, and smaller companies have been left to scramble for whatever is left.

Naturally, with communities all over Australia getting put into lockdown and isolation, one of the first things to suffer are planned projects that haven’t quite got off the ground.
People are either waiting to see how things pan out or have put the project on hold until people can move about freely again.
The current outlook appears to be doom and gloom, but economies always recover, and it’s essential to look for the silver lining. In terms of the Australian economy, being cut off from overseas suppliers may mean that local suppliers finally get their chance to shine and reach a broader market.
